Newt and Callista Gingrich

Callista Gingrich

New GOP frontrunner Newt Gingrich met his third wife, Callista, in 1993 while he was still married.

There is a weird Stepword Wives air about Callista, but she supports her Newt and is always on the campaign trail with him.

Talk show host Michael Savage has offered Newt $1 million to end his campaign. He says Newt is fat and old.

All of a sudden, owing to Perry's brain freeze, Cain's alleged philandering and ignorance of Libya, and Romney's robotic campaigning, Newt Gingrich is a frontrunner and flavor of the month.

Newt, former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, is good in debates, knows his details, but is often his own worse enemy.

His campaign started badly. On June 9, 2011, many of his senior aides jumped ship. On June 21, 2011, two more senior aides left the campaign.

But he bounced back and is a frontrunner alongside Mitt Romney.

His personal life could cause problems with conservaties. He has been married three times. He met his current wife Callista while he was still married.

Newt's own sister, Candace Gingrich-Jones, a gay rights activist and director of Human Rights Campaign, is backing Obama in 2012.

Newt is also too soft on immigration for hardline conservatives. He does not longtime and lawabiding non-documented workers should be deported. That is not appreciated by the far right of his party.
